So a few posts ago I thought I would try my hand at the MIT Photo Scavenger Hunt. As usual, I missed the deadline because the thought of scouring my massive iPhoto library was extremely unappealing. I checked back for the contest results and needless to say, I was disappointed by the lack of turnout. My photos could have been posted for all to see. Some prefrosh could have been inspired. Ah well. Here they are, for the enjoyment of my (hopefully) nonzero audience.
So back at MITES, we had this awesome Engineering Design TA named Aaron Ramirez, who placed third in the 2.007 design competition. Because he did so well, he was sent to an international competition in Brazil. Before he left to share the glory of that's-what-she-said jokes with South America, a few of my friends and I decided to give him a rousing send-off, complete with cake purchased from Laverde's and the "Are You a Geek?" quiz book from the COOP. Are you a geek, Aaron?
the Edgerton Center @ MIT. Founded by MIT professor and alumni, the lab served as the setting in which we overly-caffeinated pre-pre-frosh designed machines in accordance with the 2.007 Da (yes) MIT challenge.
MITES 2008 changed my life. The fact that 66 amazing kids came together, made friends, and learned demonstrates the clear superiority of the 'tvte. The dynamic that we had beats all.
CSAIL at CPW. I'm staring in wonder at a mechanical bird. That same bird eventually crash-landed on my head in a later demonstration.
And of course, a beaver in the wild, sporting the latest in nerdy fashion. It may or may not be on my bed.
